Performance comparison between foam glass and rigid polyurethane foam:
One、foam glass
Foam glass is made by using flat glass as the main raw material, after being pulverized by carbon, sintering foaming and annealing and cooling. It has a porous structure with a porosity of up to 80% to 90%; and the pores are independently sealed and thus have good thermal insulation properties. Foam glass has special advantages as a heat insulating material: it has high mechanical strength and can play the role of moisture proof, fireproof and anti-corrosion; it is not only used for heat preservation but also for cold preservation. In addition, it has good processability and can produce colored articles. Its use temperature range is (-200 ~ 400 ° C).
The product is divided into two types of 150 and 180 according to the density of foamed glass products. The product with density less than or equal to 150kg/m3 is 150, and the product with density between 151 and 180kg/m3 is 180; The shape is divided into flat plates and shells, codenamed P and G, respectively.
Foam glass can be used as insulation for building envelopes, and is also suitable for insulation of dust collectors, cold stores, etc. It can also be used in building sound insulation projects.
Second, rigid polyurethane foam
Polyurethane rigid foam is made of polyether or polyester polyol and polyisocyanate as main raw materials, plus catalyst, foam stabilizer and freon foaming agent, etc., which are mixed and stirred to form a chemical reaction to form a foam. The closed cell ratio of the cavity is 80% to 90%, the density is 30 to 60 kg/m3, and the water absorption is small. The thermal conductivity is smaller than air. High strength, a certain self-extinguishing property, commonly used for low temperature range of insulation, the use temperature is generally -100 ~ +100 °C. When applied, it can be prefabricated by prefabricated plants into products such as plates or shells. Because it can be foamed and cured at room temperature, it can be sprayed or infused in the field. It is the most widely used organic insulation material.
The main disadvantages are: high price, shortage of raw materials, poor temperature resistance and fire resistance. When the oxygen index of the flame retardant material is lower than 30, the safety of use is lost.
